Casa Hogar is an orphanage in Chihuahua, Mexico.
Calling it just an orphanage is a disservice.
It is also a safe place, a school, a church. It is the place where some kids take showers and get clean clothes for the first time.
It's a place where children go to school, learn that people love them and that they matter.
Mariana and Fidel started Casa Hogar in 1986. Fidel had five pesos in his pocket but he was sure of the direction God was calling him.
Marcos* is 6 years old and came to Casa Hogar because of mistreatment. Marcos says that his mother abused him daily. He loves being at Casa Hogar because the people are good, he enjoys the toys and the people feed him.

Carlos, a 9 year old boy, came to Casa Hogar because his mother was seriously ill. His father was not an option due to physical abuse in the past. Carlos likes Casa Hogar because he likes to study and spend time with his friends.
Diego is 10 years old. He came to Casa Hogar because of neglect from his parents. He stopped going to school. He said that he likes Casa Hogar because he made new friends, there are soccer tournaments, he has his own bed and they take him to school.
